Hotel Como Melbourne

The Como Melbourne, MGallery by Sofitel

After a swift flight from Brisbane, we arrived at The Como Hotel Melbourne, MGallery by Sofitel, which is located at the top end of Chapel Street in South Yarra.

The lobby is chic with pops of pink and silver and a feature flower wall I’m instantly drawn to. (There is just something about a flower wall!) We check in to our suite, which is private, spacious, modern, and even has its own Japanese garden. Instantly inspired I take out my brushes for a lovely afternoon of painting in my own private garden, nibbling on sweets from Burch and Purchase, a delicious gift from the hotel. (I can think of worse ways of spending an afternoon!)

When a down pour of rain interrupts my painting we pop out onto Chapel St for tea and shopping. On our way back to the hotel, in typical Melbourne style, the rain clears and the sun comes out, giving us enough time to check out the Como pool deck before dinner.

Later we wondered up the road to Thirty Eight Chairs, an Italian Pasta Bar with, known for as the name suggests, delicious pasta dishes. It’s always nice to visit a hotel that has everything right on your doorstep, from shops and galleries to restaurants and cafes. It brings me back to life in Paris…
