Arriving in the scenic wine region of Adelaide Hills, I was completely taken by the amazing views from Mount Lofty House, MGallery by Sofitel, our hotel in the Piccadilly Valley.

This was my first trip to Adelaide and needless to say I was impressed. The hotel’s beautiful gardens are filled with stunning flowers, making it the perfect backdrop for an afternoon picnic. Surrounded by roses and hydrangeas of every colour, I couldn’t help wish this was my own garden!

The next morning we venture out into Adelaide Hills to explore some of the local wineries and cheese shops just a ten minute drive from the hotel. Later feeling inspired, I set my paints up on the balcony of our room and start to recreate our picnic in the gardens form the day before in watercolour.

That evening we arrive at sunset for a seven-course degustation dinner at the Hotel’s new Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant. Watching the sun go down over the Hills, we enjoyed one of the most amazing food experiences I have ever had. The freshest produce, prepared in the most beautiful ways, I could easily stay an entire week at this magical place.
